ukactive has announced that JMP, one of the UK’s leading transport consultancies, will be joining its Strategic Partner Group.
JMP works with local authorities, government and communities to deliver active travel programmes, services and insight and encourage greater take-up of active travel options.
The move marks a significant milestone in the overlap between the delivery of physical activity services from the leisure and activity sector, and the growing role of active travel in encouraging communities to become more active.
JMP is currently involved in a number of projects including the Big Run Commuting Survey, but its overall ambition is to achieve a higher number of people who choose active commuting.
ukactive will be supporting JMP to develop links within the activity sector and embed its messages firmly within the quickly-developing government narrative on physical activity.
Commenting on the partnership, ukactive Executive Director Steven Ward said:
“We are delighted that JMP has joined our Strategic Partnership Group and look forward to working closely with them to get more people, more active, more often.
Active travel is such an integral part of our wider agenda so having an organisation like JMP on board, who can add their expertise and insight to our movement, is a fantastic step in the right direction”
